Arjun Sambasivan & Narayanan

Keyboard Brothers

First Ever Duo to Play Carnatic Music On Keyboard

Carnatic music on the Keyboard represents a unique fusion where traditional melodies and rhythms are adapted and performed on the Keyboard. This adaptation involves interpreting intricate ragas (melodic frameworks) and talas (rhythmic cycles), utilizing techniques such as gamakas (ornamental oscillations) and intricate finger work to faithfully render the nuances of Carnatic music. Arjun and his brother Narayanan with the guidance of their gurus and parents are pioneers in this adaptation, having performed over 900 concerts worldwide across music organizations, temples, and private events, including marriage and chamber concerts. Their innovative approach not only introduces Carnatic music to new audiences but also enriches its tradition through a modern musical lens, fostering global appreciation for its cultural richness and complexity. Their musical journey began at the age of 7, nurtured by their parents’ profound musical interest, especially their father’s guidance. Since 2010, they have captivated audiences worldwide, creating a growing demand for their music and inspiring a new generation of Carnatic enthusiasts.
